Chair's Message

Welcome to the official website for the Tax Section of The Florida Bar. We hope that you will find our website a useful tool in your practice. Visit it as often as you like. There is no charge to our Members. Our goal is to provide the most up-to-date information on Tax Section activities and opportunities for Tax Section members.

I am honored to serve as the 61st Chair of the Tax Section. Many talented tax attorneys have contributed to making our Tax Section one of the most vibrant in the nation. Due to the efforts of so many of our members, the 2011-2012 year should be exceptional.

Our Fall Meeting is at the Gaylord Palms Hotel in Orlando from October 13th through October 15th, 2011. On October 14, Joel Maser has assembled a national-caliber faculty for a program entitled Business Succession Planning. Saturday's Section Meeting provides additional opportunities for complimentary CLE at the Division Meetings and also at an AAA-CPA sponsored seminar later in the afternoon. There will be time to spend with your friends and families enjoying the Hotel's first class amenities on top of all the events.

The 34th Annual Meeting is scheduled for May 4th through 6th, 2012 at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens. Lauren Detzel, David Pratt and Don Tescher will reproduce their estate planning seminar. On Saturday evening, the Tax Section will honor the 2011-12 Tax Section of the Florida Bar Gerald T. Hart Outstanding Tax Attorney of the Year.
